韓·라오스 경제협력 방안 논의

산업통상자원부는 15~17일 올해 아세안 의장국인 라오스(비엔티안)에서 제7차 역내포괄적경제동반자협정(RCEP) 공동위에 참여해 RCEP의 사무국 설치 등을 논의한다.부산항 모습./뉴시스

한·중·일과 호주,뉴질랜드 등 15개국이 참여하는 역내포괄적경제동반자협정(RCEP)의 사무국이 연내 설치된다.사무국이 설치되면 RCEP 참여국 간 실질적 경제협력에도 속도가 붙을 것으로 보인다.

산업통상자원부는 15~17일 올해 아세안 의장국인 라오스(비엔티안)에서 제7차 역내포괄적경제동반자협정(RCEP) 공동위에 참여해 이같은 내용을 논의한다.

회원국들은 협정의 원활한 이행 및 운영에 관한 제반 사항과 경제기술협력 사항 등을 점검·논의하기 위해 RCEP 공동위를 분기마다 개최 중이며,로또1114당첨지역올해 공동위 의장국은 아세안과 비아세안을 각각 대표해 인도네시아와 중국이 수행한다.

이번 공동위에는 아세안을 비롯해 한국,로또1114당첨지역중국,일본,호주,뉴질랜드 등 총 15개 회원국의 수석대표와 아세안사무국,주최국인 라오스 산업통상부 관계자 70여 명이 대표단으로 참석하며 한국은 안창용 산업통상자원부 자유무역협정정책관이 수석대표로 참석한다.

이번 7차 공동위에 참석한 회원국들은 2022년 발효된 RCEP의 본격적인 이행을 위해 RCEP 지원단(사무국)을 연내 조속히 설치할 계획이며,공동위 기간 중 지원단장에 대한 최종 면접 및 선발도 진행할 예정이다.또 RCEP 가입 절차,공동위 산하 이행위 결과 등도 의제로 다뤄진다.

안 정책관은 이번 라오스 방문 계기 산업통상부 등을 방문해,한-라오스 간 RCEP 홍보 세미나 개최 등 경제협력 활동 방안을 논의하고 사업을 구체화할 계획이다.
