육군12사단에서 훈련병이 군기 훈련을 받다가 사망한 사건을 수사하는 군사경찰이,미얀마 양곤유가족의 보강수사 요구를 묵살하고 수사를 마무리했다는 주장이 제기됐습니다.

군인권센터는 오늘 기자회견에서 "군사경찰이 지난 7일 유가족을 상대로 수사설명회를 열어 군검찰에 사건 기록을 넘기겠다고 밝힌 뒤 다음날 기록을 송부했다"고 밝혔습니다.

하지만 유가족 측은 가해자들이 과거에도 다른 훈련병들에게 가혹행위를 했는지,미얀마 양곤박 훈련병 후송 당시 국군의무사령부 의료종합센터의 판단 및 결정내용 확인을 요청했습니다.

이에 대해 군사경찰은 국군의무사령부로부터 필요한 자료를 제공받지 못했다는 이유로 수사가 어렵다고 답했다는 게 군인권센터의 설명입니다.

군인권센터는 "군사경찰이 사망원인 범죄 수사 관할은 민간에 있어 수사에 한계가 있다는 황당한 핑계를 댔다"고 비판했습니다.

군인권센터는 또,미얀마 양곤수사설명회 당시 육군3광역수사단 소속 김 모 중령이 보강 수사를 요구하는 유가족 측 법률대리인과 언쟁을 벌이다 퇴장하며 욕설을 했다고도 주장했습니다.

마지막으로 센터는 김 중령을 즉시 수사대장직에서 해임하고,미얀마 양곤군사경찰에 보강 수사를 지시할 것을 촉구했습니다.
