테슬라는 모델3 롱레인지 후륜구동(RWD) 모델을 출시한다고 12일(현지시각) 밝혔다.일론 머스크 최고경영자(CEO)도 이날 자신의 엑스(X·옛 트위터) 계정에 “미국에서 새로운 테슬라 모델3 버전을 구매할 수 있다”고 전했다.

모델3 롱레인지 후륜구동(RWD)은 모델3의 4개 모델 중 두 번째로 가격이 낮은 모델이다.2017년 처음 선보였다가 2년 후에 판매가 중단된 이후 5년 만에 다시 출시된다.

가격은 보조금 지원 전 기준으로 4만2490달러다.사륜구동의 롱레인지 모델3보다 5000달러 저렴하고 기본 모델3보다는 3500달러 비싸다.

한 번 충전하면 363마일(584㎞)을 주행할 수 있다.기본 모델3보다 100마일이 더 길다.최고 속도는 시속 125마일(200㎞)이다.시속 60마일까지 속도를 올리는 데에는 4.9초가 걸린다고 테슬라는 설명했다.

미국 현지 언론은 두 번째로 가격이 낮은 모델이 출시되면서 판매 둔화를 겪는 테슬라에 실적에 도움이 될 것으로 전망했다.
