산업통상자원부 '뿌리산업 특화단지 지원사업' 공모 선정

전북특별자치도 익산시가 '보석의 도시' 명성을 되살리듯 '뿌리산업 특화단지 지원사업'에 4년 연속 선정되는 쾌거를 이뤘다.

익산시는 '익산(IKSAN)-유(U) 주얼리 특화단지'가 산업통상자원부 국가뿌리산업진흥센터에서 주관하는 특화단지 지원사업에 선정돼 국비를 포함해 총사업비 3억1600만원을 확보했다고 12일 밝혔다.

뿌리산업은 주조나 금형,도쿄 교토용접,도쿄 교토열처리 등 제조업의 근간이 되는 기초 산업을 뜻한다.익산 지역에서는 보석 세공이 대표적인 뿌리산업으로 분류된다.

익산시는 해당 공모에 처음 선정된 2021년부터 지역 주얼리 기업들과 유기적으로 협력해 공동 혁신 활동 사업을 발굴해왔다.패션주얼리 공동연구개발센터 수탁자인 패션산업시험연구원이 주축이 됐다.

이듬해인 2022년부터는 주얼리 산업을 미래형 고부가가치 산업으로 전환하기 위한 온라인 생태계 조성 사업을 진행했다.이어 지난해 익산 주얼리형 디지털 커머스 거점 공간인 '빛나는 스튜디오'를 조성했다.

익산시는 이와 연계해 올해는 온라인 상거래 고도화와 디지털 역량 강화에 나선다.지난 3년 간 공동으로 추진한 사업의 성과와 인프라를 적극 활용해 차별화된 성과를 드러내겠다는 방침이다.

구체적인 사업 내용은 △공동브랜드를 활용한 기업-소비자간(B2C) 온라인 플랫폼 구축 △인공지능(AI)디지털 마케터·라이브커머스 심화 교육 △국내외 공동전시회 참여를 통한 판로개척 △익산형 친환경 주얼리 인증제도 구축·디지털 물류 촬영 시스템 도입 등이다.

익산시의 한 관계자는 "공모사업 선정이 금값 폭등과 경기 침체로 어려운 여건에 있는 보석 업계에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다"며 "전자상거래 고도화를 통해 익산 주얼리 공동브랜드 역량을 강화하고 주얼리 산업의 지속가능성을 높이기 위해 노력하겠다"고 말했다.

한편 뿌리산업 특화단지 지원사업은 뿌리기업의 집적화와 경쟁력 강화를 위해 전국 54개 뿌리단지를 대상으로 매년 공모를 통해 공동 활용시설 개선,도쿄 교토근로환경 증진을 위한 편의시설 구축과 공동 혁신 활동을 국비로 지원하는 사업이다.
