(충주=뉴스1) 윤원진 기자 = 현대엘리베이터는 대구광역시 도심항공교통(UAM)용 버티포트(Vertiport) 구축을 추진한다고 19일 밝혔다.

대구시는 포항,경주 등 인접 도시를 연결하는 UAM 복합 환승센터를 기존 대구국제공항과 대구경북신공항 용지에 조성할 계획이다.

UAM 복합 환승센터에는 UAM과 KTX,도시철도,뉴욕메츠 야구고속버스 등을 연계해 쇼핑센터와 면세점,전시공연장 등이 들어선다.

현대엘리베이터는 대구시의 UAM 복합 환승센터 건립 사업에 참여해 UAM 사업의 핵심인 버티포트 구축을 담당한다.

앞서 현대엘리베이터는 수직 격납형 버티포트인 'H-PORT'의 구동 모형을 대구에서 선보이며 긍정적 반응을 끌어냈다.

H-PORT는 기존 공항과 같은 넓은 대지와 공간을 요구하는 버티포트의 한계를 극복할 대안으로 떠오르며 업계의 주목을 받고 있다.

조재천 대표는 "UAM 복합 환승센터가 차세대 교통 허브 역할을 수행할 수 있게 적극적으로 협력하겠다"라고 말했다.

홍준표 대구시장은 "현대엘리베이터가 UAM 분야의 새로운 글로벌 기준이 될 수 있게 행정적·정책적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"라고 말했다.

H-PORT는 자동 주차시스템을 활용한 격납고,드론의 자동 주차 및 충전 시설,뉴욕메츠 야구탑승객 승하차 시스템 등을 통합 관제할 수 있는 건축물이다.
