4일 뉴시스 취재를 종합하면 지난 2일 오전 7시30분께 인천공항 제2여객터미널에서 태국 방콕행 여객기(KE0657편)에 탑승하려던 대한항공 소속 승무원의 휴대수하물 가방에서 7.62㎜ 실탄(활성탄) 1발을 적발했다.

해당 실탄은 소총탄으로 인천공항 보안검색과정에서 발견됐다.이 과정에서 국군방첩사령부와 인천공항 폭발물처리반(EOD),실내야구연습장인천공항경찰단이 적발 현장으로 출동해 해당 실탄을 수거했다.

일각에서는 기내 항공안전 메뉴얼을 지키는 승무원의 가방에서 실탄이 적발된 데 대해 항공보안 교육을 강화해야한다는 목소리가 높다.

특히 대한항공의 경우 지난해와 올 3월 기내에서 각각 실탄이 발견된 바 있어 승무원들의 기내 안전의식을 높여야한다는 지적도 나오고 있다.

해당 승무원은 경찰조사에서 "어릴적 주웠던 실탄으로 이사하기 위해 짐을 정리하던 중 가방 속에 넣은 것을 인지하지 못했다"고 밝힌 것으로 전해졌다.

경찰은 해당 승무원을 우선 출국 시켰고,실내야구연습장귀국하는 즉시 실탄 소지에 대한 경위에 대해 조사할 방침이다.

이에 대해 대한항공은 "(해당 승무원의)고의성 여부를 포함한 자세한 경위는 직원이 귀국 후 경찰조사에서 밝힐 예정이다"라고 밝혔다．
