앞서 메이슨은 한국 정부가 국민연금의 의결권 행사에 부당한 압력을 행사해 삼성물산-제일모직 합병에 찬성하도록 한 결과 삼성물산과 삼성전자 주가가 하락해 약 2억 달러의 손해를 입었다며 2018년 중재를 신청했습니다.

PCA 중재판정부는 지난 4월 메이슨 측 주장을 일부 받아들여 한국 정부에 3천203만876달러 및 지연이자(2015년 7월부터 5% 연복리)를 지급하라고 판정했습니다.
