서울시교육청은 자립형 사립고(자사고)인 이화여자대학교 사범대학부속 이화금란고등학교(이대부고)가 일반고 전환을 신청해 자사고 지정 취소 절차를 진행 중이라고 8일 밝혔다.

이대부고는 향후 시교육청 청문 및 교육부 동의 절차를 거쳐 일반고 전환이 최종 확정된다.

서울시교육청에 따르면 이대부고는 고교학점제 전면 시행을 앞두고 교육 환경을 개선하고 안정적으로 학교를 운영하기 위해 지난 5월 30일 자사고 지정 취소를 신청했다.

서울시교육청은 이대부고의 안정적인 일반고 전환을 위해 학교,학부모,교육청이 참여하는 '일반고 전환 협의체'를 구성하고,야구화 커버전환기 때 발생할 부작용을 최소화할 교육과정을 운영할 수 있도록 지원할 예정이다.

자사고가 일반고로 전환하면 2년간 교육부 15억원,교육청 10억원 등 총 25억원을 지원받을 수 있다.

서울에서 자발적으로 자사고에서 일반고로 전환한 곳은 그동안 동양고(2012년),야구화 커버용문고(2013년),미림여고·우신고(2016년),대성고(2019년),경문고(2020년),동성고·숭문고·한가람고(2022년),야구화 커버장훈고(2023년) 등 총 10곳이 있으며,야구화 커버이대부고는 11번째다.
