(서울=연합뉴스) 임수정 기자 = 금융위원회가 한시 조직이었던 금융혁신기획단을 '디지털금융정책관'으로 정규화하고 그 아래 '가상자산과'를 신설하기로 했다.

금융위원회는 18일 이러한 조직 개편 내용이 담긴 '금융위원회와 그 소속기관 직제' 개정안이 국무회의에서 의결됐다고 밝혔다.

개정안에 따르면 2018년 7월부터 약 6년간 한시 조직이었던 금융혁신기획단이 디지털금융정책관으로 정규 조직화한다.

금융위는 "인공지능(AI)·빅데이터·블록체인 등 신기술 발전과 핀테크·빅테크의 급격한 성장 등으로 디지털금융 전환이 가속화되고 있는 금융환경 변화에 적극 대응하기 위한 것"이라며 "디지털금융 컨트롤타워로서 역할 하게 될 것"이라고 설명했다.

이에 따라 한시적으로 운영됐던 정원 12명이 정규 정원으로 전환되며,경마배팅하는법금융 분야 인공지능 활용 활성화를 위한 인력 1명도 새롭게 증원된다.

아울러 다음 달 19일 가상자산이용자보호법 시행에 맞춰 디지털금융정책관 아래에 가상자산과가 신설된다.

가상자산 시장 질서 확립과 이용자 보호를 위해 필요한 관리·감독 업무를 수행하게 된다.

시세조종,경마배팅하는법미공개정보이용,경마배팅하는법부정거래 등 가상자산 불공정거래에 대한 조사뿐 아니라 과징금 부과,경마배팅하는법형사고발 등 제재 업무도 맡는다.

2021년 9월 한시적으로 신설된 금융정보분석원(FIU) 제도운영기획관 및 가상자산검사과의 존속 기한은 내년 말까지 연장된다.

'특정 금융거래정보의 보고 및 이용 등에 관한 법률'에 따른 가상자산사업자에 대한 신고 업무 및 자금세탁방지의무 관련 검사·제재 등을 차질 없이 수행하기 위한 것이다.

자본시장 불공정거래에 대한 대응 강화를 위해 조사인력 3명을 보강하는 내용도 개정안에 포함됐다.
