사고 당시 공장 주변에 있던 주민들은 폭음과 함께 쏟아지는 파편에 아찔한 순간을 경험했습니다.

화재 현장에서 120미터가량 떨어진 상가로 배터리 파편이 날아가서 유리창이 깨질 정도로 위력적이었습니다.

연기 속에서 빨간 불꽃이 튀더니…

총알이 날아가듯,카타르 대 우즈베키스탄파편들이 포물선을 그리며 사방으로 날아갑니다.

공장에서 120m 정도 떨어진 맞은편 상가,카타르 대 우즈베키스탄날아온 파편으로 가게 유리창이 깨졌습니다.

[인근 가게 주인 : "불이 나면서 이제 육안으로 막 보이면서 유리가 깨지면서 파편이 막 날아왔죠."]

자칫하면 인명 피해까지 우려됐던 상황,카타르 대 우즈베키스탄위협을 느낀 상인들은 급하게 몸을 피해야 했습니다.

[인근 식당 주인 : "그런데 이게 폭발물이 날아오니까 감당이 안 되는 거야.나이 먹은 우리도 감당하기가 힘들 정도로 참 무섭다,카타르 대 우즈베키스탄두렵다."]

안개처럼 깔리는 정체모를 희뿌연 연기,카타르 대 우즈베키스탄인근 마을은 무방비로 화재 가스에 뒤덮였습니다.

[인근 마을 주민 : "고무 탄내가 난다고 그러고.보니까 안개가 그냥 낀 것 같더라고요."]

급하게 주의 방송도 했지만 노출을 피하긴 역부족이었습니다.

[경기 화성시 전곡2리 이장 : "마을 방송에서 포도 (농사) 때문에 바쁘니까 (야외에서) 일하는 사람들이 있을 것 같아서 일을 하더라도 마스크를 쓰고 해라."]

[인근 마을 주민 : "그렇지,연기 마신 사람들도 많죠.일하던 사람들은 다 마셨다고 봐야지."]

리튬 연소로 인한 연기가 어떤 영향을 줄지 알 수 없는 상황.

화재는 진압됐지만 주민들의 불안감은 잦아들지 않고 있습니다.
