[서울=뉴시스] 이준호 기자 = 최근 미국 전자여행허가(ESTA)를 대행 사이트를 통해 발급받아 과도한 수수료를 지불하는 소비자 피해가 잇따르고 있는 것으로 파악됐다.

한국소비자원은 미국 ESTA 신청 관련한 소비자 상담이 올해에만 총 8건이 접수됐다고 11일 밝혔다.

해당 8건 모두 인터넷 포털 사이트에 'ESTA' 등을 검색해 광고로 노출된 해외 대행 사이트에 접속,블랙잭 게임해당 사이트가 미국 정부에서 운영하고 공식 홈페이지로 착각한 사례인 것으로 파악됐다.

예컨대 A씨는 한 포털 사이트에 'ESTA 신청'이라고 검색한 후 화면 상단에 노출된 홈페이지에 접속했다.이후 개인정보 등을 입력하고,총 135달러를 결제했다.

그러나 이후 미국 국토안보부가 운영하는 공식 홈페이지가 아니라는 사실을 인지한 뒤 지속적으로 환불을 요구했으나 연락이 두절된 것으로 알려졌다.

미국 국토안보부에서 공식적으로 발급하는 ESTA 수수료는 총 21달러로 A씨의 경우,블랙잭 게임6배 이상에 달하는 금액을 결제한 셈이다.

이에 소비자원은 해당 사이트가 미국 국토부에서 운영하는 공식 홈페이지인지 여부를 명확히 구분하는 주의가 필요하다고 당부했다.

우리나라의 경우,블랙잭 게임포털 사이트 '네이버'와 '다음'은 검색 결과 최상단에 미국 전자여행허가 공식 홈페이지를 제공하고,블랙잭 게임그 하단에 광고 사이트를 노출하고 있다.

특히,블랙잭 게임광고 사이트는 '광고'라는 명시적인 설명과 함께 별도의 구역으로 구분돼 있다.

그러나 '구글'은 광고 사이트가 먼저 노출되고 하단에 공식 홈페이지가 나오는 것으로 파악됐다.

무엇보다 공식 홈페이지와 광고 사이트 간에 별도 구역 구분이 없어 명확히 구분하기 어려운 것으로 나타났다.

이에 소비자원은 구글에 소비자 피해 예방을 위한 조치를 요구할 계획이다.

아울러 ESTA 신청 시 미 정부의 공식 홈페이지를 이용할 것을 당부했다．
