카카오가 인공지능(AI)을 이용해 프로필 이미지를 만들 수 있는 자회사 카카오브레인의 '칼로 AI 프로필' 서비스 종료 수순을 밟는다.

카카오는 24일 칼로 AI 프로필 서비스 공식 채널을 통해 자사 새로운 AI 방향성에 맞게 서비스를 재정비하기 위해 다음 달 24일 AI 프로필 신규 생성 및 결제를 종료한다고 공지했다.또한 내년 7월 31일 AI 프로필 서비스를 공식 종료할 계획이라고 부연했다.

칼로 AI 프로필은 카카오의 AI 전문 자회사 카카오브레인이 지난해 11월 선보인 서비스로 이용자들이 한 장의 사진만으로 5분 만에 다양한 콘셉트의 사진을 만들어 나만의 프로필을 생성할 수 있도록 하는 서비스다.카카오는 소비자가 메신저 카카오톡에서 원하는 AI 프로필을 바로 만들도록 별도의 카카오톡 채널을 열었다.

AI 프로필 신규 생성 및 결제는 오는 7월 24일 오전 10시에 종료된다.이용자는 본인이 생성한 AI 프로필을 '프로필 이력' 메뉴에서 생성일 기준 최대 1년간 저장 및 조회할 수 있다.

카카오 측은 "그동안 서비스를 이용해 주신 사용자께 송구스럽지만 새로운 변화를 위한 결정으로 양해 부탁드린다"고 밝혔다.
