대학병원 간호사가 출근길 전철 안에서 의식을 잃고 쓰러진 승객을 심폐소생술로 구한 사실이 뒤늦게 알려졌다.

17일 순천향대학교 부속 천안병원에 따르면 암병동에서 근무하는 간호사 조선우(32·여)씨는 지난 10일 오전 6시 56분발 평택 서정리역서 천안 봉명역으로 가는 1호선 전철에서 의식을 잃고 쓰러진 50대 남성을 발견했다.

2~3미터 옆에서 그 장면을 목격한 조씨는 즉시 쓰러진 승객에 다가가 상태를 살폈다.

쓰러진 승객이 의식도 없고 맥박도 잡히지 않자 조씨는 주위 승객들에게 119 신고를 요청하고 지체 없이 심폐소생술에 들어갔다.

조씨의 빠른 응급 조치로 승객은 다행히 의식과 호흡을 곧 되찾았다.

안정을 취한 승객은 성환역에서 하차해 대기하고 있던 119구급차량에 올라 병원으로 이송됐다.

조씨는 “간호사가 아니라도 누구나 그런 상황에는 발벗고 나섰을 것”이라며 “심폐소생술은 평소 지속적으로 훈련하고 있던 터라 신속하게 시행할 수 있었다”라고 말했다.
