(광주=연합뉴스) 손상원 기자 = 건축폐기물 매립 의혹이 일어난 광주 일곡 근린공원 현장 조사에서 불법 폐기물이 나오지 않았다.

광주시는 26일 보도자료를 내고 건설노조가 의혹을 제기한 건축폐기물 매립은 사실이 아닌 것으로 드러났다고 밝혔다.

광주시는 지난 24일 건설노조,보스턴 인근 카지노광주시의회,보스턴 인근 카지노북구의회,시공사 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 일곡 근린공원 현장을 조사했다.

일곡 근린공원에서 임시 적치장으로 옮긴 토사량을 측정하고 건축폐기물이 매립됐는지 확인하는 작업이었다.

건설노조는 길이와 폭을 측정해 토사량을 파악했고,시공사는 굴착기를 이용해 터파기 후 높이를 측정했다.

측정 결과 토사량은 광주시가 애초 밝힌 15t 덤프트럭 약 92대 분량이었으며 건축폐기물 매립은 없는 것으로 확인됐다고 광주시는 전했다.

김재중 광주시 도시공원과장은 "현장 조사를 통해 의혹은 완전히 해소됐다"며 "법에 따른 견실한 시공으로 시민이 누릴 수 있는 공원을 조성하는 데 힘쓰겠다"고 말했다.

전국건설노조 광주전남지부는 최근 일곡 근린공원 조성 과정에서 폐토석,폐목재,폐비닐 등이 뒤섞인 대량의 혼합 건축폐기물이 발견됐다고 주장했다.
