6일 업계에 따르면 서울대 의대·서울대병원 교수 비상대책위원회는 지난 3일부터 시작한 총파업 찬반 투표를 결과를 이날 오후 6시쯤 발표할 예정이다.

앞서 비대위는 총파업 찬반투표를 4일 하루 동안 실시할 계획이었으나 6일 오전까지 연장했다.정부가 수련병원장에 내렸던 전공의 사직서 수리 금지 명령을 철회하고 전공의에 대한 행정처분 절차를 중단하자 의견 수렴이 더 필요하다고 판단한 것이다.

총파업이 결정되면 응급실과 중환자실,18회 대통령배 경마대회신장 투석,분만 등 환자의 생명과 직결된 필수의료를 뺀 정규 수술과 외래 진료를 중단할 가능성이 높다.

이미 참여자의 65%가 휴진에 동의한 것으로 확인됐다.서울대의대 교수는 서울대병원,보라매병원,18회 대통령배 경마대회분당서울대병원,18회 대통령배 경마대회강남센터 등 4개 병원 총 1400여 명에 달한다.

전국의과대학교수 비상대책위원회(전의비) 등 다른 의대 교수 단체들은 당장 총파업 투표 계획은 없으나 이날 서울의대 비대위 투표 결과가 영향을 미칠 가능성도 있다.개원의 중심인 대한의사협회(의협)도 9일까지 전체 회원을 대상으로 총파업 찬반 투표를 진행 중이다.
