티몬과 위메프 정산 지연 사태의 파장이 온라인 상품권 업계로 이어지는 가운데 공정거래위원회가 상품권과 모바일 쿠폰 발행사에 대한 조사에 나선다.

한기정 공정거래위원장은 14일 기자간담회에서 "9월 상품권·e쿠폰 발행사의 약관에 대한 직권조사를 실시해 취소와 환불,고마워토토 판교유효기간 등에 관한 약관조항이 소비자 권리를 부당하게 제한하고 있지 않은지 점검할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.

앞서 해피머니 상품권 발행사 측은 지난달 말 티몬과 위메프에서 판매된 해피머니 상품권 환불을 중단하겠다고 밝힌 바 있다.발행사 측은 이미 보유자산보다 많은 액수의 상품권을 발행했는데,고마워토토 판교이 가운데 티몬과 위메프의 정산 지연으로 사실상 부도 사태에 빠진 것이다.이날 기준 티몬과 위메프 정산 지연금은 2783억원인데 이 중 21%가 상품권 판매액이다.이와 관련해 다음달 15일부터 개정 전자금융거래법이 시행되며 상품권 판매액 등 선불충전금에 대한 별도 관리 의무가 도입될 예정이다.공정위 역시 법 시행에 맞춰 상품권 시장 전반의 불공정 관행을 살필 계획이다.
