채 상병 순직 사건을 수사하는 경북경찰청이 오늘(5일) 수사심의위원회를 열었습니다.약 2시간 반 동안 누구에게,어떤 혐의를 적용할 지 등을 살펴봤는데 핵심은 임성근 전 해병대1사단장입니다.바로 보도국 연결해 알아보겠습니다.

네,뚱보야구단오늘 검토 대상에 오른 피의자는 모두 9명입니다.

수사심의위원회는 이 가운데 6명은 송치,뚱보야구단나머지 3명은 불송치 의견을 냈습니다.

오늘 회의는 경북 경산경찰서에서 오후 2시부터 4시 반까지 열렸습니다.

법대 교수와 사회 인사 등 11명이 참석해 의견을 나눴습니다.

수사를 맡은 경북경찰청 소속 형사들도 일부 참석했고요,피의자 9명 가운데 누구에게 혐의를 적용할지,뚱보야구단어떤 혐의를 적용할지 등을 논의했습니다.

제일 궁금한게 임성근 해병대1시단장에 대해서는 어떤 결론이 나왔는지인데,뚱보야구단확인된 게 있나요?

아직입니다.오늘 회의는 모두 비공개로 진행됐습니다.

경찰 관계자들도 아직 결과를 밝힐 단계가 아니라고만 했는데요,수사심의위원회 의견이 반드시 경찰 수사 결과에 반영되는 건 아닙니다.

경찰은 위원회 의견을 참고해서 다음 주 월요일에 수사결과를 발표할 예정입니다.

이 발표에서 임성근 전 사단장이 송치 대상에 포함될 경우 처음에 경찰에 수사를 맡겼다 회수했던 국방부 조치가 적절했는지 논란이 될 것으로 보입니다.

반대로 송치 대상에서 빠질 경우에도 현재 진행 중인 공수처 수사 방향과 충돌할 가능성이 있어 마찬가지로 논란이 있을 전망입니다.
