2일 정부세종청사에서 열린 최저임금위원회 전원회의에서 표결 끝에 최저임금 업종별 차등 적용이 무산되며 남은 최저임금 심의 과정에서 노사가 최저임금 인상률을 두고 첨예한 대립과 갈등을 보일 것으로 예상된다.

올해 결정되는 내년도 최저임금은 역사상 처음으로 1만원을 넘어설지가 관건이다.올해 최저임금인 9860원에서 140원(1.4%)만 올려도 내년 시간당 최저임금은 1만원을 넘는다.1988년 도입된 최저임금의 인상률이 가장 낮던 해는 2021년이다.그해 최저임금은 1.5%(130원) 인상됐다.

올해 시간당 최저임금에 주 15시간 이상 일했을 때 지급되는‘주휴 수당’까지 합치면 사업자가 지급하는 실제 최저임금은 1만2000원에 육박한다.월급으로 환산하면 206만740원으로 200만원을 넘어섰다.서울시 지방직 9급 공무원 월급인 181만5070원보다 25만원 더 많다.

캐스팅보트를 쥔 공익위원들이 올해는 어떤 산식을 활용해 내년 최저임금을 결정할지에도 관심이 쏠린다.

공익위원들은 2022년과 2023년 적용 최저임금을 결정할 땐‘국민경제 생산성 상승률(경제성장률+소비자물가상승률-취업자증가율)’산식을 썼다.
