미국 상무부는 마이클 맥컬 공화당 하원의원의 질의에 대한 답변 문서에서 "2024년 초부터 상무부가 화웨이와 관련된 8개의 추가 라이선스를 취소했다"고 밝혔다고 로이터통신이 현지시간 2일 보도했습니다.

상무부 답변에 따르면 라이선스가 취소된 품목에는 일반인이 많이 쓰는 운동 장비와 사무용 가구,프로야구 롯데 우승또 터치패드나 태블릿PC용 터치스크린 센서와 같은 낮은 수준의 IT 기술 제품이 포함됩니다.

앞서 지난 5월 로이터통신은 화웨이에 대한 정부의 일부 라이선스가 취소됐다고 보도했으며 퀄컴과 인텔 등이 취소 기업에 포함돼 있다고 전한 바 있습니다.

당시에도 상무부는 로이터 통신의 보도대로 '특정' 라이선스를 취소했다고 밝혔지만,프로야구 롯데 우승어느 기업의 라이선스가 취소됐는지 등은 공개하지 않았습니다.

화웨이와 인텔,퀄컴은 논평 요청에 응하지 않았으며 맥컬이 위원장을 맡고 있는 하원 외교위원회 대변인은 2일 답변자료를 받아 검토하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.

미국 정부는 화웨이가 미국의 국가 안보를 해친다는 이유로 지난 2019년 수출제한 기업으로 지정했지만 이후에도 화웨이는 좋은 경영성과를 내고 있습니다.
