금융위원회와 금융감독원은 오는 5일부터 불법사금융업자로부터 불법 채권추심을 당했거나 법정 최고금리(20%)를 넘는 대출을 받은 피해자의 관계인도 무료 법률서비스 지원을 받을 수 있다고 4일 밝혔습니다.

금융당국은 2020년부터 대한법률구조공단과 '채무자대리인 무료 지원 사업'을 운영해오고 있는데,아시안게임 야구 욕현행 제도는 채무당사자로만 지원 대상을 한정하고 있습니다.

이번 개편으로 불법추심 피해자 1명 기준 최대 5명의 관계인까지 무료 법률 서비스를 받을 수 있게 됩니다.

채무자 관계인에는 ▲ 채무자와 동거하거나 생계를 같이 하는 사람 ▲ 채무자 친족 ▲ 채무자와 같이 근무하는 사람 등이 포함됩니다.

지원 대상으로 선정되면 공단은 채권자의 불법추심에 대응할 수 있도록 관계인에게 법률상담을 실시하고,소송이 필요한 경우 법률구조 신청 절차를 안내합니다.

아울러 공단은 대리인 선임 사실을 채권추심자에게 알리는 서면 통지서에 '관계인에 대한 연락 금지' 문구를 추가로 기재,아시안게임 야구 욕불법행위에 대한 경각심을 제고할 방침입니다.

불법추심 피해를 본 관계인은 금감원 홈페이지 내 불법금융 신고센터에서 법률서비스 지원을 신청할 수 있습니다.

금융위가 무료 법률서비스 이용자를 대상으로 실시한 설문조사에 따르면 응답자의 78.9%가 불법추심을 경험했고,불법추심 유형으로는 '가족·지인 등 제3자에게 채무 사실을 알리는 행위'가 72.2%로 가장 비중이 컸습니다.

김진홍 금융위 금융소비자국장은 "채무 사실을 제3자에게 고지하거나,아시안게임 야구 욕변제 요구하는 것이 불법이지만 이러한 불법 추심이 광범위하게 이뤄져 왔다"며 "불법추심으로 고통받는 피해자는 채무자대리인 무료 법률서비스를 이용하시길 바란다"고 당부했습니다.
