(서울=연합뉴스) 이승연 기자 = 태국 방콕발 청주행 티웨이항공 여객기가 엔진 계열 부품 결함으로 14시간 넘게 지연되고 있다.

13일 티웨이항공과 국토교통부 등에 따르면 현지시간 이날 오전 0시 5분 태국 방콕에서 출발할 예정이었던 TW184편에서 부품 결함이 발견됐다.

결함은 항공기 엔진의 시동을 거는 데 필요한 '엔진 스타터'라는 부품에서 발생했다.

티웨이항공은 해당 부품을 교체한 뒤 현지시간 이날 오후 8시께 재운항할 예정이다.

해당 항공편을 예약한 승객 125명은 방콕 돈므앙 공항 인근 호텔에서 대기 중이다.

티웨이항공 관계자는 "승객들의 불편을 최소화하기 위해 호텔 및 식사를 제공했으며 향후 보상 절차를 진행할 계획"이라고 말했다.
