지난 4월 LG유플러스는 시각장애인의 스마트기기 사용환경 개선을 위해 기부금 5000만원을 전달했다.한시련은 이 기부금으로 260쪽 분량의 ICT 교육용 지도서를 제작해 전국지부와 복지관 등 220여 곳에서 시각장애인 대상 스마트기기 활용 교육을 진행하고 있다.이외에도 LG유플러스는 광주세광학교 등 전국 맹학교 8곳에 점자책과 확대독서기,노트북 등 ICT 기기를 지원하는 'U+희망도서관' 사업과 임직원의 목소리로 음성도서를 만드는 '책 읽어주는 도서관' 캠페인을 진행하고 있다.

한편 LG유플러스는 오는 20일 개최되는 '전국시각장애인지도자대회'에서 시각장애인의 정보접근성 향상의 공로로 감사패를 수상할 예정이다.
