민간기업 최초 LNG터미널이 22년만에 준공됐습니다.

포스코인터내셔널은 오늘(9일) 광양 제1LNG터미널을 종합준공했습니다.포스코인터내셔널은 2002년부터 약 22년간 1조450억원을 투자해 LNG터미널을 건설했습니다.

LNG터미널은 LNG운반선을 통해 운송된 LNG를 인수해 저장했다가 이를 기화시켜 배관망을 통해 수요처로 공급하기 위한 시설입니다.

광양 제1LNG터미널은 민간기업 최초의 LNG터미널로,루이스 홀LNG 저장탱크 6기(용량 93만㎘)와 시간당 680톤의 기화송출설비를 갖추고 있으며 18만㎥ 급 LNG 운반선을 접안할 수 있는 항만설비도 갖췄습니다.

광양 제1LNG터미널은 국가 기간산업을 위해 발전용과 공정용 천연가스를 공급할 뿐만 아니라,루이스 홀포스코,루이스 홀S-OIL,SK E&S 등 이용사가 직도입한 천연가스를 하역,루이스 홀저장,루이스 홀기화,송출하는 종합 서비스를 제공할 예정입니다.

포스코인터내셔널은 이에 더해 인접 부지에 총 9천300억원을 투자해 20만㎘급 LNG탱크 2기를 증설하는 광양 제2LNG터미널도 공사 중입니다.

포스코인터내셔널은 광양 제2LNG터미널이 완공되는’26년을 기점으로 총 133만㎘의 LNG 저장 용량을 확보하게 된다.이는 전 국민이 40일 동안 사용 가능한 난방용 가스 저장 용량입니다.
