[서울=뉴시스] 강수윤 기자 = 한국거래소는 16일 부산본사에서 'KRX 행복한 경제신문교실' 발대식과 오리엔테이션을 열었다고 밝혔다.

KRX국민행복재단 황우경 사무국장,새 슬리퍼 냄새이코노아이(어린이경제신문 발행사) 박원배 대표,NIE(Newspaper In Education) 전문강사,새 슬리퍼 냄새지역아동센터 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 강사위촉과 사업설명회를 진행했다.

'KRX 행복한 경제신문교실'은 한국거래소가 부산지역 아동들의 경제이해력 향상을 위해 추진한 신규사업으로 4000만원이 투입된다.

거래소 측은 "코로나 팬데믹 이후 과도한 스마트폰 사용과 영상매체 노출로 아동들의 문해력 저하와 기초학력 부진이 사회적 문제로 떠오르며 해당 교육에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다"고 말했다.

거래소는 NIE전문강사 10명을 파견,새 슬리퍼 냄새이달 말부터 4개월간 20개 지역아동센터 약 250여명에게 어린이경제신문을 활용한 교육을 실시할 예정이다.

이날 오리엔테이션에서는 사업 취지,새 슬리퍼 냄새지원계획과 일정 등을 안내하고 전문강사 위촉과 파견 지역아동센터 관계자와의 면담을 통해 효율적인 수업운영방안을 논의했다.

정은보 거래소 이사장은 "아동들이 경제신문읽기를 통해 실생활 경제원리 뿐만 아니라 다양한 주제의 정보를 학습하고 생각하는 힘을 기르는데 도움이 되기를 바란다"며 "거래소는 앞으로도 아동들의 건전한 금융가치관 확립 및 경제 교육격차 해소를 위해 다각적인 지원을 확대해 나가겠다"고 말했다.
