[서울=뉴시스]송연주 기자 = 제약바이오 기업 유한양행이 희귀질환 치료제의 임상시험에 진입한다.

유한양행은 고셔병 치료 신약으로 개발 중인 'YH35995'의 임상 1상 시험계획(IND)을 식품의약품안전처로부터 승인받았다고 1일 밝혔다.

YH35995는 지난 2018년 GC녹십자로부터 기술을 도입한 신약 물질이다.

이번 1상에서는 건강인 성인 남성에 YH35995를 경구 투여한 후 안전성,슬롯 커뮤 0.0내약성 등을 평가하게 된다.

고셔병은 유전적 돌연변이의 영향으로 특정 효소 결핍으로 인해 생기는 리소좀 축적 질환(LSD)의 한 종류다.혈액학적,슬롯 커뮤 0.0장기,슬롯 커뮤 0.0골격계 등 전신에 걸친 증상이 나타나는 희귀질환이다.

YH35995는 글루코실세라마이드(GL1)의 생성을 낮추는 글루코실 세라마이드 합성효소(GCS) 억제제다.기질감소치료법(SRT)에 해당하는 저분자 화합물로 경구 투여용으로 개발 중이다.

전임상 시험에선 약물의 유효성 및 안전성이 나타났다.혈액뇌장벽(BBB)을 투과할 수 있도록 개발돼 동물에서 높은 BBB 투과율과 기존 치료제 대비 뇌에서의 GL1 수치를 더 크고 오래 억제하는 특징을 보였다.

신경학적 증상에 대해 선택할 수 있는 치료 옵션이 제한적인 3형 고셔병 환자들에게 임상적 유익성을 제공할 것으로 회사는 기대했다.

김열홍 유한양행 R&D 총괄 사장은 "YH35995는 유한양행 연구소에서 선도물질 도출·최적화 및 전임상 개발에 수년간 집중한 결과 성공적으로 임상 개발 단계로 진입할 수 있게 됐다"며 "유한양행이 개발하는 첫 희귀질환 치료제라는 점에서 의미가 크며 곧 시험대상자 모집을 개시할 예정"이라고 말했다．
