“1000만㎞ 달리고도 탄소배출 제로”…현대차 수소전기트럭의 푸른 질주 [사진제공=현대차]현대자동차의 수소전기트럭인‘엑시언트’가 스위스에서 2020년 첫 주행을 시작한 지 3년 8개월 만에 누적 주행거리 1000만km를 돌파했다.

12일 현대차는 스위스에서 운행 중인 엑시언트 수소전기트럭이 누적 주행거리 1000만km를 달성했다며 양산형 대형 수소전기트럭의 기술력·신뢰성을 입증했다고 밝혔다.

현재 스위스에서 총 48대가 운행 중인 엑시언트 수소전기트럭은 2개의 수소연료전지로 구성된 180kw급 수소연료전지시스템과 최대출력 350kW급 구동모터를 탑재해 1회 충전 시 최대 400km를 주행할 수 있다.

“1000만㎞ 달리고도 탄소배출 제로”…현대차 수소전기트럭의 푸른 질주 [사진제공=현대차]스위스에서 운행되는 모든 엑시언트 수소전기트럭은 생산과정에서 탄소가 발생하지 않는‘그린수소’만을 연료로 사용한다.주행 중에도 일반 디젤 상용 트럭과 달리 이산화탄소를 배출하지 않고 순수한 물만을 배출하는 게 특징이다.

일반 디젤 상용 트럭이 1000만km를 운행하면 약 6300t의 이산화탄소를 배출하므로 엑시언트 수소전기트럭은 주행 과정에서 그만큼의 탄소를 절감하는 효과가 있다는 설명이다.이는 수령 30년의 소나무 약 70만 그루가 연간 흡수하는 탄소량으로 508ha(508만㎡)의 소나무 숲을 조성하는 것과 같은 셈이다.

현대차는 엑시언트 수소전기트럭 주행을 통해 수소연료전지시스템을 포함한 ▲주행거리 ▲수소소비량 ▲연료전지성능 등 차량 데이터를 지속적으로 분석하고 있으며 이를 통해 수소연료전지 기술을 발전시켜 다양한 차량에 적용할 예정이다.
