31명 사상자를 낸 경기 화성의 아리셀 공장이 최근 5년 동안 산업안전감독을 받지 않은 것으로 확인됐습니다.

공장 작업장은 방염처리도 되지 않았습니다.

화재로 23명이 숨지고 8명이 다친 경기 화성의 일차전지 제조업체 아리셀 공장.

이 아리셀 공장에 대한 고용노동부의 산업안전감독와 점검이 지난 5년 동안 한 차례도 없었던 것으로 드러났습니다.

노동부는 중대재해가 발생했거나,유격수 뜻발생할 위험이 있는 위험물질 취급 작업장을 중심으로 매년 사업장 안전보건 감독을 실시합니다.

노동부는 국회에 제출한 아리셀 공장 감독 현황 자료에 '해당 없음'이라고 답변했습니다.

조사하지 않아 제출할 자료가 없다는 의미입니다.

고위험 물질인 리튬을 취급하고 외국인 노동자를 다수 고용하고 있는 업체에 대한 관리 감독이 소홀했다는 지적이 나옵니다.

노동부는 "감독점검 실시 이력은 없지만,유격수 뜻아리셀을 23년과 24년 고위험 사업장으로 선정했고 공문을 보내 안전보건조치를 철저히 하도록 안내한 바 있다"고 해명했습니다.

또,유격수 뜻이번 화재는 초기 발생 당시 CCTV를 보면 처음 불이 난 뒤 42초 만에 연기가 작업장을 뒤덮었는데,유격수 뜻아리셀 공장 작업장은 방염처리가 돼 있지 않았던 것으로 드러났습니다.

불이 난 3동 작업장을 포함해 공장 4개 동에 방염처리가 돼 있지 않았습니다.

다만,방염처리는 소방시설법 시행령에 따라,의료시설과 숙박시설 등 다중이용업소만 설치 의무 대상입니다.

공장 화재 현장에 남아있던 폐전해액 1천2백 리터는 9시간에 걸친 작업 끝에 모두 수거됐습니다.

경기고용노동지청은 아리셀 불법 파견 문제와 관련해 수사팀을 꾸려 조사하고 있습니다.
