서울본부세관이 지난 4월부터 2달간 국민 생활 밀접품목 관련 원산지표시 기획단속을 실시해 150억원 규모의 대외무역법상 원산지표시 규정 위반물품을 적발했다고 13일 밝혔다.

이번 단속은 국민이 일상생활에서 직접 사용하는 수입품을 주요 대상으로 함으로써 소비자와 국내 생산자를 보호하고 국민의 알권리를 보장하기 위해 기획됐다.

단속 결과,위반 유형별로는 △원산지 부적정 표시 △원산지 미표시 △원산지 허위표시 및 손상·변경 등 순으로 높게 나타났다.

적발 유형별 사례로 '원산지 부적정 표시'의 경우,중국산 블루투스 무선키보드의 원산지를 소비자가 식별하기 어려운 배터리 삽입부 내부에 부적정하게 표시한 물품을 수입 및 판매한 업체가 적발됐다.

'원산지 허위표시'로는 주방용품 반제품을 중국에서 수입해 국내에서 제조·가공한 물품으로,창원 용호동 로또국산인정기준(HS 6단위 미변경,창원 용호동 로또국내부가가치 85%)을 미충족함에도 원산지를 국산으로 허위표시한 업체와 중국산 주방세제를 국내에서 재포장해 원산지를 국산으로 허위표시한 업체가 적발됐다.

'원산지 손상·변경'으로는 중국산 소형 전자기기의 원산지표시를 바코드 스티커로 덧붙여 원산지를 손상해 소비자에게 판매한 업체가 적발됐다.

서울세관은 이번에 적발된 업체들에 대해서 원산지표시 시정명령,창원 용호동 로또과징금 부과 등을 조치했다.

서울세관은 "앞으로도 국민생활 밀접품목,국민안전 직결품목 등의 단속뿐만 아니라 공공 조달 및 수입 원료를 사용한 국내 생산 물품에 대한 원산지표시 위반행위도 지속적으로 단속할 계획"이라고 밝혔다.
