경찰에 따르면 경기 군포경찰서는 28일 보험사기방지 특별법 위반 혐의로 A씨 등 170명을 불구속 송치했다.

이들은 2021년 5월부터 지난해 12월 말까지 경기도 소재 B 양·한방 병원에서 경옥고,풀럼 대 로더럼 유나이티드공진단 등을 처방받은 뒤 마치 도수치료를 받은 것처럼 병원 측과 공모해 영수증을 바꿔치기하는 수법으로 실손 의료보험금을 타낸 혐의를 받는다.

B 병원과 A씨 등 환자들은 이 같은 수법으로 30억원 상당의 보험금을 받아낸 것으로 조사됐다.

병원 측과 환자는 2대1의 비율로 보험금을 나눠 가진 것으로 파악됐다.

경찰 관계자는 "실손 의료보험에서는 미용이나 보약 목적의 약을 보상받을 수 없으니 보험금을 받을 수 있는 도수치료 영수증으로 바꿔치기한 것"이라고 설명했다.

앞서 경찰은 병원 측 관계자 3명에 대해선 지난 4월 보험사기방지 특별법 위반 혐의로 구속 송치했다.
