교도통신에 따르면 기시다 총리는 이날 공물을 헌납하고 일본 무도관에서 열리는 국가 전사자 추도식에서 연설한다.그는 지난해까지 연설에서 아베 신조 전 총리와 스가 요시히데 전 총리처럼 아시아 국가들이 피해에 대한 책임을 져야 한다는 점을 언급하지 않았다.

지난해 이날도 기시다 총리는 '자민당 총재 기시다 후미오' 명의로 야스쿠니 신사에 공물 대금을 봉납했다.

한편 현직 각료인 기하라 미노루 방위상,2. 분데스리가신도 요시타카 경제재생담당상 등은 야스쿠니 신사를 직접 참배했다.
