최 회장은 지난 13일 "병동에 가득 찬 아픈 아이들을 두고 현실적으로 떠날 수가 없다"며 "의협의 주장과 의대생·전공의의 이야기에 깊이 공감하지만 총파업에는 참여할 수 없을 것 같다"고 밝혔습니다.

최 회장은 "대학병원에서 검사도 받지 못하고 아동병원으로 오는 아이들이 많아졌다"며 "산소호흡기를 달아야 할 정도로 중환자도 눈에 띄게 늘었는데,오타니 식단우리마저 문을 닫고 아이들을 집으로 돌려보내는 건 인도주의적인 견지에서 할 수 없는 일"이라고 말했습니다.

의료대란 장기화로 상급병원의 진료 기능이 축소되면서 동네병원에선 치료가 어려운 환아들이 아동병원으로 몰리고 있다는 겁니다.

그러자 임 회장이 이를 비난하며 최 회장을 겨냥해 비난을 쏟아낸 것으로 보이는데,오타니 식단이에 대해 최 회장은 "의협 투쟁에는 공감한다"며 "각자 형편이 다른 것뿐"이라고 말한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

임 회장의 페이스북에는 "당신도 소아과 의사 아니냐"며 "소아과 의사인 의협 회장이 아이들을 지키겠다는 의사를 비난할 수 있냐"는 비판적인 댓글도 달리고 있습니다.

소아청소년과 전문의인 임 회장은 의협 회장에 당선되기 전 대한소아청소년과의사회장으로 활동해 왔습니다.

아동병원협회와 함께,오타니 식단대한분만병의원협회와 대한마취통증의학회 소속 병원도 휴진 불참을 선언한 가운데 뇌전증지원병원 협의체도 "뇌전증은 치료를 중단하면 신체 손상 위험이 높아져 약물 투여를 중단할 수 없다"며 휴진 불참에 동참했습니다.

의협은 오는 18일 전면 휴진하고 서울 여의도에서 전국 의사총궐기대회를 개최하겠다고 예고했고 대학 병원들도 18일 휴진하지만 응급실과 중환자실,오타니 식단분만실 등은 정상 운영하기로 한 상황입니다.
