지난 4월 경기 광주시 제2중부고속도로에서 차량 추돌사고로 운전자 2명이 숨진 사고가 있었는데 이 가운데 1명은 사고 이후 도로에 나와 있다가 레커차에 깔려 숨진 사실이 뒤늦게 드러났습니다.

레커차 기사는 사고 사실을 숨기기 위해 사고 차량의 블랙박스 메모리카드를 빼가기도 했습니다.

경기 광주경찰서는 특정범죄가중처벌법상 도주치사 혐의로 30대 레커 기사 A 씨를 구속해 검찰에 송치했다고 오늘(16일) 밝혔습니다.

A 씨는 지난 4월 28일 오전 광주시 제2중부고속도로 하남 방면 상번천 졸음쉼터 부근에서 30대 운전자 B 씨를 자신의 레커로 치고 지나가 숨지게 한 혐의를 받고 있습니다.

앞서 B 씨는 이날 새벽 2시 50분쯤 아우디 승용차를 운전하던 중 2차로에서 앞서가던 20대 C 씨의 액티언 차량을 들이받는 사고를 냈습니다.

당시 B 씨는 사고 이후 의식이 있는 상태에서 자기 차량 옆에 주저앉아 있었는데,도박 중독 금액갑자기 심정지 상태에 빠졌습니다.

역시 심정지 상태였던 액티언 운전자 C 씨와 B 씨는 병원으로 옮겨졌으나 둘 다 숨졌습니다.

경찰은 당시 현장에 출동했던 구급차 블랙박스 영상에서 A 씨의 레커가 중앙분리대와 1·2차로에 걸쳐 있던 B 씨의 차량 사이를 들어가면서 B 씨를 치고 넘어가는 장면을 확인했습니다.

당시 A 씨는 차량 휠 부분이 고장 나 견인할 수 없다며 현장을 떠났는데,도박 중독 금액이 과정에서 B 씨 차량의 블랙박스를 챙긴 것으로 파악됐습니다.

경찰은 지난 5월 초 A 씨의 주거지와 사무실을 압수 수색한 결과 A 씨가 자신의 노트북으로 사고 당시 블랙박스 영상을 실행됐다가 삭제된 기록을 포착했습니다.

A 씨의 레커와 아우디 자동차의 블랙박스 메모리카드에는 B 씨를 치는 장면은 담겨있지 않은 것으로 확인됐습니다.

A 씨는 경찰 조사에서 "B 씨가 이미 숨진 줄 알았고,도박 중독 금액2차 사고를 냈는데 덤터기를 쓰게 될까 봐 블랙박스 메모리를 챙겨 떠났다"며 혐의를 인정한 것으로 전해졌습니다.

경찰은 지난 5월 말 A 씨를 검찰에 구속 송치했습니다.
