이재용 삼성전자 회장이 최근 삼성전기 사업장을 찾아 미래 신사업 개발 현황을 점검하고 임직원을 격려했다.

3일 재계에 따르면 이 회장은 지난달 21일 삼성전기 수원 사업장을 찾아 장덕현 삼성전기 사장 등으로부터 신사업 개발 현황 등을 보고 받았다.이 회장이 삼성전기 사업장을 찾은 것은 지난해 3월 중국 톈진 사업장 방문에 이어 약 1년 3개월여 만이다.

이번 방문에서 이 회장은 신사업 개발팀 직원 10여명과 간담회도 한 것으로 알려졌다.이 자리에서 이 회장은 “사람의 눈은 몇 화소냐”고 묻고 “신사업 개발 성공하세요”,에볼루션 드림캐쳐“삼성전기의 성공을 기원합니다” 등 격려 메시지를 전달한 것으로 전해졌다.또 직원들과 어깨동무하거나 하트 모양의 동작을 하며‘셀카’를 찍은 이 회장은 간담회에서 미국 출장을 다녀온 소감을 전하며 세상이 변하고 있다는 얘기도 한 것으로 알려졌다.

특히 이 회장은 삼성전기가 추진하는 신사업 이른바‘Mi-RAE(미-래) 프로젝트’를 집중해서 살폈다.미래 프로젝트는 ▷전장 ▷로봇 ▷인공지능 ·서버 ▷에너지 를 의미한다.특히 2~3년 내 양산이 가능한 수준으로 진척된 사업으로는 ▷실리콘 캐패시터 ▷글라스 기판 ▷전장 카메라용 하이브리드 렌즈 ▷소형 전고체 전지 ▷고체산화물 수전해전지 등이 꼽힌다.이 중 SOEC는 삼성전기 주력 제품 MLCC(적층세라믹커패시터)의 원재료 세라믹 기반으로 700℃ 이상의 고온에서 물을 전기분해해 수소를 생산하는 기술이다.삼성전기는 2025년 시제품 개발,에볼루션 드림캐쳐2027년 양산을 목표로 추진 중이다.정태일 기자
