(춘천=연합뉴스) 박영서 기자 = 음주운전을 하다가 적발되자 경찰의 정차 명령을 무시하고 달아난 50대가 추격전 끝에 붙잡혔다.

16일 강원 춘천경찰서에 따르면 지난달 14일 오후 9시 22분께 춘천시 동면 장학리에서 "운전자가 만취 상태로 운전하고 있다"는 신고가 들어왔다.

때마침 인근에서 순찰 중이던 후평지구대 소속 경찰관들이 음주운전 의심 차량을 발견해 운전자에게 하차를 요구했으나 운전자는 이를 무시하고 그대로 달아났다.

보행자를 위협하며 고속 주행으로 1.2㎞가량 달아났고 경찰을 따돌리지 못한 운전자는 차에서 내려 도주를 이어갔으나 결국 붙잡혔다.

경찰이 혈중알코올농도를 측정한 결과 면허취소 수준(0.08% 이상)이었다.

경찰은 A씨를 도로교통법상 음주운전 혐의로 현행범 체포했다.

경찰 관계자는 "음주운전은 소중한 생명과 재산을 위협하는 중대범죄"라며 "단속만 피하면 된다는 안일한 생각을 버리고,2023 u17 아시안컵술을 한잔이라도 마신 뒤에는 운전대를 절대 잡지 말아달라"고 당부했다.
