대구서 서울까지 미행 끝에 붙잡아…4명 구속·3명 불구속 송치

(대구=연합뉴스) 김선형 기자 = 대구 달서경찰서는 28일 검사와 금융감독원 직원을 사칭해 일반 시민들로부터 약 10억원을 뜯어낸 혐의(통신사기피해환급법 위반)로 국내 총책 A(22)씨와 중국인 환전책 B(28)씨 등 4명을 구속 송치했다.

피해자들로부터 돈을 받아내 총책에게 전달한 조직원 3명도 불구속 송치했다.

A씨 일당은 지난 3월 27일부터 4월 4일까지 대구와 서울 일대에서 피해자 7명에게 검사나 금융감독원 직원인 척하며 "계좌가 범행에 이용됐다"고 속인 뒤 약 30회에 걸쳐 10억원 이상을 가로챈 혐의를 받는다.

경찰은 이들 조직원을 검거하기 위해 대구 달서구에서부터 미행을 시작해 서울 중랑구,휴 프레이저구로구 일대 은신처까지 일당들의 뒤를 몰래 밟았다.

피해금 중 약 1억원은 해외로 반출되기 전 기소 전 몰수 보전 조치가 됐다.

최대일 대구 달서경찰서 피싱수사팀장은 "해외 총책과 도망간 일당을 추적 중"이라며 "절대로 경찰,휴 프레이저검찰이나 금융기관은 돈을 요구하지 않으니 피해가 발생하지 않도록 반드시 유의해달라"고 말했다.
