KT&G가 릴 에이블 전용스틱의 제품 리뉴얼을 단행했다.[사진 KT&G][이코노미스트 이지완 기자] 국내 궐련형 전자담배 시장 1위 KT&G가 제품 리뉴얼을 통한 경쟁력 강화에 박차를 가하고 있다.

12일 KT&G에 따르면 회사는 이날‘릴 에이블’(lil AIBLE)의 전용스틱‘리얼·그래뉼라·베이퍼 스틱’을 전국 편의점에 리뉴얼 출시했다.제품의 맛과 디자인 등이 대폭 개선된 것이 특징이다.

KT&G는 기존 전용스틱 중 리얼과 베이퍼 스틱의 맛 지속성 등을 개선했다‘에임 리얼·그래뉼라·베이퍼 스틱’3종의 통합 브랜드명‘에임’(AIIM)은 삭제했다.대신‘리얼’(REAL,메인보드 ssd 슬롯각초형)‘그래뉼라’(GRANULAR,메인보드 ssd 슬롯과립형)‘베이퍼 스틱’(VAPOR STICK,메인보드 ssd 슬롯액상형) 각각의 개별 브랜드로 제품명 및 디자인을 변경했다.타입별 독자적인 특성을 강조하기 위함이다.

제품 패키지 디자인은 리얼의 경우 클래식한 무드를 현대적으로 재해석한 이미지가 적용됐다.그래뉼라는 과립형 타입의 스틱 특성을 살려 이색적이면서도 조화로움을 강조한 디자인으로 변경됐다.베이퍼 스틱은 부담을 줄인 깨끗함을 상징하는 심플한 이미지가 사용됐다.변경된 디자인은 리얼 3종·그래뉼라 4종·베이퍼 스틱 1종 등 총 8종에 적용됐다.

KT&G의 이번 제품 리뉴얼은 국내 궐련형 전자담배 시장 경쟁력 강화를 위한 조치다.궐련형 전자담배 브랜드 릴을 앞세운 KT&G는 현재 국내 전자담배 시장 1위를 달리고 있다.지난달 26일 2가지 사용 모드·예열시간 단축·일시정지 및 고속충전 기능 등이 적용된 릴 에이블 2.0(lil AIBLE 2.0)을 출시한 것도 시장 경쟁력 강화의 일환이다.지난 10일에는 릴 에이블 전용스틱 신제품‘그래뉼라 아이스노우·커플·블루밍’3종도 출시했다.

임왕섭 KT&G NGP사업본부장은 “국내 1위 전자담배 브랜드‘릴’의 새로운 제품인‘릴 에이블 2.0’출시에 발맞춰 전용스틱에 대한 소비자들의 의견을 적극 반영해 맛과 디자인 등을 종합적으로 개선한 리뉴얼 제품을 선보이게 됐다”며 “향후에도 사용자 중심의 제품 혁신을 바탕으로 국내외 전자담배 시장을 선도해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
