한국항공우주산업(KAI)이 지난 4일 사천 본사에서 육군 수리온(KUH-1) 양산 사업 최종호기 납품 기념식을 개최했다고 5일 밝혔다.

기념식에는 강구영 KAI 사장,박중동 육군 항공사령부 부사령관(준장),이종화 시험평가단장(준장),프리미엄리그차원준 방위사업청 헬기사업부장(준장),프리미엄리그허건영 국방기술품질원장 등 관련 군·기관 주요 인사들이 참석했다.

KAI는 지난 2010년 12월 최초 양산에 착수한 이후 이번에 최종호기를 납품하며 약 14년간 이어온 육군 수리온 양산사업에 마침표를 찍었다.

강구영 KAI 사장은 “최초의 국산 헬기가 대한민국 육군 항공의 핵심 전력으로 자리매김한 뜻깊은 날”이라며 “향후 체계적인 후속지원과 지속적인 성능개량을 통해 국산 명품 헬기로서의 글로벌 경쟁력을 강화해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

수리온은 육군의 기동헬기를 시작으로 다양한 파생 기종이 개발됐고,프리미엄리그이를 기반으로 글로벌 시장진출을 준비하고 있다.더불어 KAI는 수리온을 기반으로 미래전장의 핵심인 유무인복합체계를 개발 중이다.
