경기도는 화성 리튬배터리 공장 화재를 계기로 리튬 취급 사업장은 물론 그 외 유해화학물질과 위험물 등을 취급하는 업종의 전체 사업장에 대해 안전 점검을 실시한다고 밝혔습니다.

경기도는 오늘(27일)부터 다음 달 4일까지 기후환경에너지국과 소방재난본부,위어도커피특별사법경찰단으로 합동점검반을 편성해 48개 리튬 취급 사업장을 대상으로 전수 안전점검에 나섭니다.

점검반은 7인 1조 6개 팀으로 구성되며 리튬 제조공장에는 소방기술사,위어도커피배터리 및 화학전문가,위어도커피환경전문가 등이 함께 투입될 예정입니다.

점검 내용은 유해화학물질 취급과 보관·저장 기준 위반 여부,유해화학물질 취급시설 안전진단 실시 여부,위어도커피관리자 선임 여부 등 환경 분야는 물론 건축물 안전도,소방시설 및 위험도 관리 적정성 등 소방 분야 점검도 이뤄집니다.

경기도는 법적 기준은 지켰지만 위험성이 있는지를 적극적으로 발굴해 화재나 사고가 발생하지 않도록 조치할 계획입니다.

경기도내 리튬 관련 사업장은 모두 82곳이며 48곳은 리튬을 사용과 제조·보관·운반하는 사업장이고,위어도커피나머지는 34곳은 알선 판매업소입니다.

앞서 환경부가 실시 중인 리튬 취급 사업장 합동특별점검에서는 현재까지 도내에서 5곳에 대해서만 점검이 이뤄진 것으로 전해졌습니다.

김동연 경기도지사는 오늘 긴급대책회의를 열어 리튬 사업장 합동점검계획을 보고받고 "리튬 외에 다른 유해화학물질,위어도커피위험물 등을 취급하는 업종에 대해서는 관리 권한이 정부에 있다고 하더라도 나서서 위험 요인을 확인하자"고 말했습니다.

김 지사는 또 "점검,행정지도 등의 방식이 아닌 컨설팅 방식으로 안전 분야를 지원하되 컨설팅을 거부하는 사업장 등에 대해서는 명단을 공개하는 등 안전한 근로환경을 만들기 위한 분위기를 조성해야 한다"고 덧붙였습니다.
