경기도에 따르면 유가족들은 "파견회사에 유족의 비상연락처가 등록된 것으로 아는데 아무 연락이 없다.유족이 일일이 수소문해서 사망 사실을 확인하는 것은 잘못된 일이다"고 김 지사에게 토로했다.

또 "경찰서에서 유족의 언니도 가능하다고 해서 DNA 채취에 협조했는데 아들이 해야 한다고 또 연락이 와서 결국 아들이 했다"며 "신속한 사후 처리를 부탁드린다.유사 사례가 없도록 지사님께서 노력해 달라"고 호소하기도 했다.

김 지사는 유가족들에게 사건 개요와 사고 대처 상황에 대해 먼저 설명한 뒤 "신속히 해결될 수 있도록 고용부 장관에서 연락하는 등 노력하고 있다"며 "파견회사 미연락 등 유가족들이 겪으신 사례를 정리해 개선 방안을 마련하겠다"고 약속했다.

김 지사는 이어 오후석 행정2부지사에게 "이런 내용들을 빠짐없이 기록하고 정리해 유가족 입장에서 재난 대응과 지원 대책,필라델피아 유니언 대 인터 마이애미 선수 평가재발 방지 대책을 수립하라"고 지시했다.

김 지사가 방문한 빈소는 화재 희생자 23명 가운데 1명의 빈소로 28일 처음으로 장례 절차에 들어갔다.
