[디지털데일리 백지영기자] 일론 머스크 테슬라 최고경영자(CEO)가 자사 주식을 보유한 한국인 투자자들에 "똑똑한 사람들(Smart peole)"이라고 말했다.
머스크는 지난 8일(미국 현지시간) 테슬라 관련 소식을 전하는 엑스(X,룰렛 도박 사이트옛 트위터) 계정 '테슬라코노믹스'에 이같은 댓글을 남겼다.
해당 계정에 "테슬라는 한국인이 가장 많이 보유한 주식($TSLA is the #1 stock held by Koreans today)"이라는 글이 올라오자 이에 대한 답글로 이같이 말한 것이다.이 글에는 태극기에 테슬라 로고를 합성한 이미지도 게재됐다.태극문양 대신 테슬라 로고를 삽입해 이목을 끌었다.
실제 한국예탁결제원에 따르면 지난 4일 기준 국내 투자자들의 테슬라 주식 보관금액은 146억7000만달러(한화로 약 20조3000억원)로 해외주식 가운데 1위를 기록했다.2위로 밀려난 엔비디아의 보관금액은 134억2000만달러(약 18조5000억원)에 달했다.
인공지능(AI) 반도체 칩 선두 주자인 엔비디아는 지난 5월 말 테슬라가 4년간 차지하고 있던 해외주식 보관금액 1위 자리에 올라섰으나,룰렛 도박 사이트약 40일만에 테슬라에 다시 1위 자리를 내주게 됐다.
