7일 카이즈유데이터연구소에 따르면,바카라 토토모델Y는 올 상반기 총 1만41대 팔리며 수입차 등록 1위에 올랐다.작년 같은 기간 등록 대수(2027대)의 약 다섯 배에 달하는 판매량이다.2위는 BMW의 5시리즈(1만24대),바카라 토토3위는 메르세데스 벤츠의 E클래스(8916대)가 차지했다.

테슬라 차량이 판매량 1위를 차지한 건 반기 기준으로 이번이 처음이다.그동안 국내 시장에서 수입차 등록 1위 자리는 BMW와 메르세데스 벤츠가 줄곧 경쟁해왔다.작년과 재작년 국내에서 가장 많이 등록된 수입차는 메르세데스 벤츠의 E클래스였다.

모델Y는 리튬인산철(LFP) 배터리가 탑재된 중국산 모델이다.올해 보조금이 작년 대비 약 60% 삭감됐다.이에 테슬라코리아는 모델Y의 가격을 낮추는 전략을 택하면서 판매량을 끌어올린 것으로 풀이된다.

업계에서는 올해 하반기에도 테슬라 열풍이 이어질지 주목하고 있다.다만 테슬라 판매는 물량 공급 문제로 상반기에 몰리는 경향이 있다.또 전 세계적인 전기차 '캐즘'(Chasm·일시적 수요 정체)에다 올해 하반기 BYD(비야디) 등 중국산 저가 전기차의 국내 상륙이 예정돼 있어 이를 단정하기는 어렵단 분석도 나온다.
