[이코노미스트 이병희 기자] 한국과학기술원(KAIST)에 200억원에 달하는 부동산을 기부했던 장성환 삼성브러쉬 회장이 1일 별세했다.

1903년 황해도 남촌에서 태어난 장성환 회장은 18세에 월남해 고학으로 대학원까지 졸업했다.이후 무역업으로 화장품 용기 제조회사 삼성브러쉬를 설립하고 중국까지 사업을 확장했다.

2021년에는 부인 안하옥(당시 90세) 여사와 함께 서울 강남구 논현동 소재 200억원 상당의 부동산을 과학기술 인재 양성에 써달라며 KAIST에 기부했다.장 회장은 장학사업에 관심을 두던 중 이웃에 살던 김병호·김삼열 씨 부부가 KAIST에 350억원을 기부한 것에 영향을 받아 기부처를 결정했다고 밝혔다.

장성환 회장은 당시 인터뷰에서 “우리 부부의 오랜 꿈을 실현할 수 있어서 기쁘다”며 “우리의 기부가 우리나라 과학기술 발전에 보탬이 된다면 더 바랄 것이 없다”고 했었다.

KAIST는 장 회장의 기부금을 토대로 미래 의과학 분야를 선도할‘(가칭)장성환·안하옥 바이오신약센터’를 건립하고 있다.2026년 8월 완공이 목표다.장 회장은 과학기술 발전에 기여한 공로로 2022년 KAIST 명예경영학 박사 학위를 받았다.

유족으로 부인과 1남 1녀가 있다.빈소는 연세대학교 용인장례식장(특실)에 마련됐다.발인은 3일 오전 8시,무료 슬롯 머신 잭팟 파티장지는 경춘공원묘원(강원도 춘천시 서면)이다.
