어제 발생한 경기 화성의 리튬 배터리 공장 화재 현장 수색작업이 계속되고 있습니다.22명이 숨지고 8명이 다쳤는데,03-04 프리미어리그아직도 연락이 끊긴 한 명을 찾고 있습니다.현장 취재기자 연결해서 수색상황 알아보겠습니다.

네,03-04 프리미어리그화재가 발생한 지 21시간이 지났지만 현장 주변은 여전히 출입이 통제돼 있고 매캐한 냄새도 나고 있습니다.

방금 전인 오전 7시부터 구조대가 다시 현장에 투입돼 연락이 두절된 한 명을 찾고 있습니다.

불은 어제 오전 10시 30분쯤 공장 건물 2층 출입구 쪽에서 발생했습니다.

소방당국이 방범카메라를 확인한 결과 배터리 포장 작업 중 갑자기 연기가 나면서 불이 붙었고,03-04 프리미어리그직원들이 소화기로 자체 진화를 시도했지만 효과가 없던 걸로 확인됐습니다.

리튬에 붙은 불은 모래로 꺼야 하기 때문입니다.불은 공장에 있던 배터리 3만5000여개로 옮겨 붙으면서 걷잡을 수 없이 커졌습니다.

배터리가 굉음을 내며 연쇄적으로 폭발하면서 탈출도 어려웠고 구조대도 사고 발생 5시간이 돼서야 들어갈 수 있었습니다.

당시 공장에 있던 직원 67명 가운데 1층에 있던 15명은 무사히 탈출했지만,03-04 프리미어리그2층에 있던 52명 중 22명은 숨졌고 1명은 실종됐습니다.

2층 직원들은 출입구 쪽에서 난 불을 피해 안쪽으로 도망치다가 삽시간에 퍼진 유독가스에 피해를 입은 것으로 알려졌습니다.

국립과학수사연구원과 고용노동부는 오전 10시30분부터 합동감식을 진행해 정확한 화재 원인을 파악할 예정입니다.
