미국 민주당 대통령 후보 카멀라 해리스 부통령이 대선 승패를 좌우할 경합주 7개 중 6개에서 공화당 후보 도널드 트럼프 전 대통령을 앞서거나 지지율이 같은 것으로 나타났다.

14일(현지시간) 유에스에이투데이(USA Today)등 미국 언론에 따르면 선거분석기관 '쿡 폴리티컬 리포트'가 지난달 26일부터 8월 2일까지 7개 경합주 유권자 2867명을 대상으로 실시한 여론조사에서 해리스 부통령 48%로 트럼프 전 대통령 47%보다 높았다.

해리스 부통령은 애리조나,미시간,노스캐롤라이나,펜실베이니아,위스콘신 등 5개 주에서 근소하게 앞섰다.

조지아에서 두 후보는 동률이었으며,트럼프 전 대통령은 네바다에서 유일하게 우위를 점했다.

조 바이든 대통령이 민주당 후보였던 지난 5월 조사에서는 트럼프 전 대통령이 7개 경합주에서 앞서거나 동률이었는데 상황이 반전됐다.

바이든이 고정했던 미 남부의 이른바 선벨트(Sun Belt) 지역인 애리조나,네바다,조지아,노스캐롤라이나 해리스가 우위를 점하면서 당선에 필요한 선거인단 270명을 확보 여러 길이 열렸다고 USA Today는 분석했다.

특히 노스캐롤라이나는 트럼프 전 대통령이 5월 조사에서 7%포인트 차이로 우위에 있었지만,이제는 해리스 부통령이 1%포인트 앞서면서 승리를 장담할 수 없게 됐다.
