사람잡는 폭염이 이어지면서,토르강 아자르여기저기서 에어컨이 쉴 새 없이 돌아가고 있죠.혹시 모를 사고도 주의하셔야겠습니다.어제 서울의 한 아파트에서 에어컨 실외기로 인한 화재가 발생하는 등 사고가 잇따르고 있는 건데요.

변정현 기자가 사고 예방법 취재했습니다.

아파트 외벽에서 검은 연기가 피어오르고,토르강 아자르단지 안에는 출동한 소방차가 줄지어 서 있습니다.

어제 오후 서울 강북구 아파트의 에어컨 실외기에서 불이 나 주민 30명이 대피했습니다.

목격자
"어디 불났나 싶어서 이렇게 둘러보니까 여기 불이 났더라고.시커먼 연기가 다 난 거잖아요."

불은 에어컨 실외기 배선에서 시작된 것으로 추정됩니다.

2020년 한 해 221건이던 에어컨 화재는 올해 지금까지 209건이 발생하며 증가추세입니다.

특히 폭염에 고스란히 노출된 에어컨 실외기는 불안 요인입니다.

"이게 관리가 제대로 되고 있는 건가라는 걱정이 좀 더 많이 되고 있습니다."

낮 시간대 건물 외벽에 설치된 실외기 앞 온도는 60도를 훌쩍 넘는데요,토르강 아자르뜨거워서 숨이 턱턱 막힐 정도입니다.

전문가들은 불쏘시개가 될 수 있는 먼지를 제거해야 한다고 강조합니다.

"반드시 실외기를 청소를 해서 주변에 이물질이 없도록 해주고 단자와 단자 사이에 먼지가 껴 있는 것들을 청소를 하고 사용을 해야 된다."

다닥다닥 붙은 상가의 실외기들은 큰 불로 이어질수 있는만큼 충분한 간격을 둬야 합니다.
