한국형 차기 구축함(KDDX) 사업 관련 군사기밀 유출 사건을 수사하는 경찰이 해당 사건을 수사했던 울산지방검찰청을 압수수색했습니다.

경찰청 국가수사본부 중대범죄수사과는 어제(25일) 울산지검에 수사팀을 보내 HD현대중공업 직원들의 군사기밀보호법 위반 혐의가 적시된 압수수색검증 영장을 제시하고 관련 자료를 확보한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

앞서 울산지검은 HD현대중공업 직원들이 2012년부터 2015년까지 KDDX와 관련한 군사기밀을 몰래 취득해 회사 내부망을 통해 빼돌린 혐의를 포착해 직원 9명을 군사기밀보호법 위반 혐의로 재판에 넘겼습니다.

해당 직원들은 지난해 11월 대법원에서 최종 유죄 판결을 받았습니다.

경찰은 울산지검이 보관하고 있는 당시 수사 자료와 재판 기록을 확보하기 위해 압수수색에 나선 것으로 알려졌습니다.

이번 경찰 수사는 KDDX 사업 수주를 놓고 경쟁 관계에 있는 한화오션 측이 HD현대중공업을 고발하면서 진행되고 있습니다.

방위사업청은 지난 2월 군사기밀 유출 과정에 대표나 임원이 개입한 정황이 없다고 보고 HD현대중공업의 KDDX 사업 입찰을 허용했습니다.

이에 한화오션은 군사기밀 유출이 '윗선 개입' 없이는 불가능한 일이라 반발하며 HD현대중공업 임원이 개입된 정황을 수사하고 처벌해 달라는 내용의 고발장을 국수본에 지난 3월 제출했습니다.

HD현대중공업은 한화오션 임직원들이 사실관계를 왜곡하고 자사 직원들의 명예를 훼손했다며 지난달 한화오션 임직원들을 국수본에 맞고소했습니다.
