충북 충주에서 신생아를 살해한 20대 친모가 구속됐습니다.

임신 사실을 숨기다 범행으로 이어진 건데요.

지난 2월,영아 살해죄가 폐지돼 처벌이 더 무거운 살인죄가 적용됐습니다.

충북 충주의 한 아파트입니다.

지난달 5일,슬롯 자유 스핀이곳에서 20대 여성이 신생아를 살해한 혐의로 경찰에 붙잡혔습니다.

"아기를 낳았는데 숨을 쉬지 않는다"는 여성의 말을 수상히 여긴 지인이 경찰에 신고한 겁니다.

현장에선 탯줄이 붙은 채 숨진 신생아가 발견됐습니다.

이 여성은 가족들에게 임신 사실을 숨겨오다 아기가 울자 범행한 것으로 조사됐습니다.

국립과학수사연구원은 "당시 아기가 자가 호흡하고 있었던 것으로 보인다"는 의견을 제시했고,슬롯 자유 스핀여성도 범행을 자백했습니다.

여성은 집에서 출산한 뒤 아기가 울자 질식사시킨 것으로 드러났습니다.

법원은 구속 전 피의자 심문에서 범죄 중대성과 도주 우려를 고려해 구속영장을 발부했습니다.

적용된 혐의는 살인죄.

법정 최고 형량이 살인죄보다 낮은 영아살해죄가 지난 2월 폐지됐기 때문입니다.

2021년 충북 청주에서 일어난 신생아 유기 사건과 지난해,슬롯 자유 스핀경기도 수원의 냉장고 영아 시신 사건 등 관련 사건이 잇따르면서 영아살해죄의 형량이 지나치게 낮다는 지적이 제기된 데 따른 겁니다.

경찰은 조만간 수사를 마무리 짓고 여성의 신병을 검찰에 넘길 예정입니다.
