[파이낸셜뉴스] 편의점 CU가 장마철을 앞두고 55cm 비닐우산을 업계 최저가인 5000원대에 선보인다.

18일 BGF리테일에 따르면 비닐우산은 보라색과 연두색 2종으로 출시됐다.

CU의 자체 캐릭터 '케이루'가 그려진 65cm 남색 장우산과 우의(일회용·다회용)도 판매한다.

CU는 장마철 상품들의 가격을 낮추기 위해 해외 직소싱을 택했다.

해외소싱 전담팀이 중국 20여곳의 우산 전문 제조사와 소통하며 상품 종류 및 품질,골든 리치 포커원가 등을 검토해 최종 업체를 선정했다.

수입 계약 체결 후에도 여러 차례 제조업체에 방문해 상품의 제조공정,골든 리치 포커품질 등을 점검해 안정적인 상품 공급에 힘썼다고 CU는 전했다.

송서영 BGF리테일 글로벌트레이딩팀 책임은 "우산의 품질과 안전성을 보장하기 위해 까다로운 심사 기준을 세우고 제조업체와 협상을 벌였다"며 "앞으로도 전 세계에 퍼져있는 고품질,골든 리치 포커합리적인 가격의 상품들을 적극 발굴해 고객들에게 선보일 것"이라고 말했다.
