이 공장에선 사고 이틀 전에도 불이 났었던 걸로 확인됐습니다.

업체 측은 작은 불이어서 자체 진화 후에 신고를 하지 않았다고 시인했는데요.

이때 조치 없이 넘어간 게 더 큰 화를 불러왔다는 비판이 나옵니다.

화재 현장을 찾은 유족들은 이미 참사의 전조가 있었다고 말했습니다.

참사 발생 이전에 또 다른 화재가 있었다는 겁니다.

"(딸이) 불났다고 말하더라고요.불 나서 직원이 한해(한명) 소화기 들었는데 손에 화상을 입었다고…"

해당 사실은 업체도 시인했습니다.

불이 난 3동 바로 옆,무료 슬롯 머신 플레이3동과 마찬가지로 배터리 제조 공정이 이뤄지는 2동에서 지난 22일 불이 났다는 겁니다.

작업자가 불량을 알아채고 따로 빼둔 배터리에서 불이 났다는 게 아리셀 측 설명입니다.

"22일 토요일 화재는 작업자가 전해액이라는 물질을 주입하는 공정에서 전해액을 주입한 이후에 배터리가 온도가 급상승하는 거를 스스로 알아채서…"

당시엔 불이 크지 않아 직원이 소화기로 자체 진화했고 소방에 신고하진 않았다고 했습니다.

"일부 제조 공정에서 문제가 발생됐을 때는 이미 제조한 배터리조차도 어떤 문제가 발생됐을 수 있기 때문에 충분히 재점검할 필요가 있다…"

해당 공장은 면적기준으로 스프링클러 설치 의무 대상이 아니어서 열폭주 전이를 지연시킬 수 있는 스프링클러는 설치되지 않았던 것으로 확인됐습니다.
