(서울=연합뉴스) 주종국 기자 = 동영상 플랫폼 '틱톡'을 보유한 중국 기업 바이트댄스가 미국의 반도체 설계기업 브로드컴과 손잡고 첨단 인공지능(AI) 프로세서를 개발하고 있다는 보도가 나왔다.

로이터통신은 24일(현지시간) 익명의 소식통들을 인용,친구엄마 썰두 기업이 5나노미터 이상의 첨단기술이 포함된 맞춤형 반도체를 개발 중이라면서 생산이 이루어질 경우 바이트댄스가 첨단 반도체를 조달하는 데 도움이 될 것이라고 단독 보도했다.

반도체 제조는 대만의 TSMC가 맡게 될 전망이다.

지난 2022년 미국이 최첨단 반도체에 대한 수출 통제 조치를 취한 이후 중국과 미국 기업 간에 5나노미터 이상의 첨단 기술이 포함된 반도체 개발 협력이 발표된 적은 없다.

미·중 기업 간 협력은 일반적으로 이보다 덜 정교한 기술과 관련된 것이다.

반도체 생산은 올해 이루어질 것으로 보이지는 않는다.소식통은 설계 작업이 잘 진행되고 있지만 설계를 마무리하고 제조에 들어가는 단계는 아니라고 설명했다.

바이트댄스나 브로드컴,친구엄마 썰TSMC는 이 같은 소식을 확인해주지 않았다.

엔비디아의 최첨단 반도체는 미국의 수출 통제로 인해 중국에서는 사용할 수 없다.

하지만 화웨이를 비롯한 중국 AI 가속기 제조업체들도 첨단기술 개발에 적극적이어서 두 나라 간 경쟁은 치열해지고 있다.

바이트댄스와 브로드컴은 2022년부터 협력관계를 맺고 있다.
